Our Solar Power Process: From Assessment and Site Evaluation to Installation and Monitoring
Our process normally takes the following steps:
- Contact Us - The process begins when you contact us or fill out an information request.
- Preliminary Assessment -- We'll follow up shortly after your request with a call to you to gather more information and to discuss your eligibility from the information that you entered in the on-line form.
- On-site Evaluation - Next we'll schedule a free, one hour, on-site evaluation to:
- Take physical dimensions
- Assess roof orientation and slope and optimum mounting options for PV panels, wiring and ancillary electrical components
- Check existing electrical system for adequate wiring
- Discuss your energy requirements and system options
- Discuss with you the incentives that are available in your location and the best options for financing your installation
- Written Proposal - Based upon our evaluation, you will receive a written, detailed quotation within a few days after our site visit. The preliminary design proposal will balance the following factors according to the parameters determined at our visit:
- Energy requirements
- Space availability
- Budgetary requirements
- Initial cost
- Projected future costs
- Projected energy cost savings
- Incentives and financing options available
- Answer Questions - We'll follow up with you after you've had an opportunity to go over our proposal to answer your questions, supply you with information for your accountant, lenders, and financial advisors, and if needed, make adjustments to better satisfy your requirements.
- Full Design and Applications - When we've agreed upon a proposal, you're ready to sign our project agreement. All we require to get started is a $250 deposit. A certified electrical engineer will take care of working out the design details while we will fill out applications for grants and incentive programs and building permits as needed.
- Order Materials - Once your grants have been approved, and we're certain that all funding is available, we'll order the materials. Delivery usually takes from 2 to 4 weeks.
- Installation - When the materials arrive, we'll schedule the installation with you going over every aspect of the installation process and coordinating the work schedule for minimal disruption to your daily routine. The installation generally takes less than 2 weeks to complete, but will require access both inside and outside. Inside access is required for making the connection to your existing service.
During installation a project manager will oversee the installation and be available to answer any of your questions and handle any scheduling changes or problems that might arise. All electrical work will be done by a licensed electrician. All technicians wear protective clothing to protect your business or home environment.
- Connection - When the work is completed, we'll arrange for an inspector to come out and verify that all work is done to code and ready for connection. After he has passed the inspection, we'll file for connection with your utility company and file any completion paper work for your grants.
- Monitoring - After the system is up and running, we're still your energy partner. With our remote monitoring service, we can keep an eye on your system's performance to make sure it continues to give you peak power efficiency. In addition, your system's stats will also be available to you on a private website so you can conveniently check your power production at any time.
- Registered Aggregators - We can also register your Renewable Energy Certificates (REC)s and sell them for you. RECs can only be registered in power units of 1megawatt hour of generation. Eclipse Solar can aggregate your power along with many other small producers into larger blocks that are more readily sold in the REC marketplace. We will handle all of the registration. All you have to do is collect your checks.
